Setting itself apart from Excel, Google Sheets offers real-time collaboration, cloud-based accessibility, and seamless integration with other Google services like Google Apps Script automation.

🗣️ Ultimately, the tradeoff between Google Sheets vs. Excel is collaboration and a user-friendly interface against slightly more functionality. In my opinion, for 99% of people, Google Sheets is capable and preferable.

Steps to Accomplish with Google Sheets:

  1. Collect Data: Use Google Forms to gather survey responses and automatically link the form to a new Google Sheet.

  2. Organize Data: In the Sheet, let column A represent 'Hours of Sleep' and column B 'GPA'.

  1. Calculate Correlation:

    1. Click on an empty cell where you want the correlation result to appear.

    2. Enter the formula =CORREL(A3:A13, B3:13) (assuming your data is in rows 3 to 13).

       

    3. Press Enter. This formula calculates the correlation coefficient between the hours of sleep and GPA.

     

  2. Interpret Results: A correlation coefficient near 1 or -1 indicates a strong relationship, while a coefficient near 0 indicates a weak relationship.
